This is the shoe of Conrad Stoltz 4 time XTERRA world champion. I met Conrad at Sea Otter and again at Nationals in Snowbasin.  He is known as the Caveman.  I really enjoyed chatting with him.

Grip/Traction- My first couple runs in the shoe were in a couple inches of snow.  The shoes have great grip.  I feel like I am running in a very comfortable running shoe. The awesome traction was surprising because the shoes are especially light and appear to be more of a road shoe.

Fit- Very comfortable! I had to put some YANKZ in the lacing system because the laces they come with don’t work. This shoe feels like it is molded to my foot.  I have a wide size E foot and the toe box fits very nicely. This has a thicker heel in the sole than any other trail running shoe I have tried.

Runability- Cushioning of the shoe is very sturdy and responsive.  This shoe responds extremely well to very technical trail running environments.  The extended heel tab in the back is nice because it blocks tiny pebbles and other debris from slipping into the shoe.  And this feature makes quick transition for throwing on the shoe.  I ran over 150 miles on very technical trails before I started noticing any breakdown.

Appearance- I really like the design of this shoe.  This is a perfect blend of style and functionality.

Overall rating- 4.5
