The TriEdge-Kestrel Women's Triathlon Team

The TriEdge-Kestrel Womens Triathlon Team is made up of age-groupers ranging in age and experience in the sport of triathlon. Our athletes are heavily involved in their local athletic communities and have a deep passion for all things triathlon related. This passion and dedication to the sport is the reason they were selected to be part of the team. TriEdge started the team with a desire to create an atmosphere where women could rely on each other for advice and friendly rivalry. We are excited for the possibilities with this great group of women in the coming 2013 season and beyond! Follow their adventures: triedgeteam.blogspot.com

Brittany is Captain of the TriEdge-Kestrel Women’s Triathlon Team, boot camp instructor and a sports fanatic who started competing at a young age. She is a former member of the Auckland New Zealand Basketball Team. She began triathlons three years ago and was hooked after her first race. Her second year in the sport she tackled her first half Ironman, and enjoyed several first place finishes. She is an outdoor enthusiast with a particular love for water sports and anything with a slight element of danger. She is a wife to an amazing, supportive husband, and three highly energetic but scandalously cute little boys. She is excited for the 2012 race season, and looks forward to one day competing at Kona.

Team Laura Bio 2

Laura Anderson
Age Group: 30-34

After becoming a runner to lose baby weight, Laura began triathlons two years ago. A former swimmer, she has found her experience to be a great strength in the sport. 2011 was an exciting year for Laura as she got a new PR of 1:45 in the half marathon, and took third in her age group at the Saratoga Springs Triathlon. Laura also enjoys running; hitting the road and trails with friends. She just graduated this fall with a degree in Sociology, and with her ‘free’ time, often finds herself busy with her three children's activities. Laura and her husband love to hop out of town for a long weekend and explore and enjoy new cities. She is excited to be competing this year with the team!

Team Taylor Bio

Taylor Tandy
Age Group: 25-29

Taylor is heading into her third season of the triathlon world thanks to marrying an elite Ironman triathlete. She is a member of the TriEdge-Kestrel Triathlon team and enjoys training up in the mountains of Heber where she lives. In the off season she and her husband enjoy skiing and have recently become avid CrossFitters. Taylor has won her age group in every sprint distance race she has entered. She believes the secret to any training plan is chocolate.

TeamBioSherri

Sherri Tomlinson
Age Group: 45-49

As a mother of 5 ‘girlie girls’ getting down and dirty is Sherri’s sanity. She’s been an athlete since childhood, and started out as a distance runner over 30 years ago. Running long distances is her passion. She has been doing triathlons for four years and is now a certified junkie. She still runs her token marathon or two a year, with a couple Ragnar races and century rides thrown in, but give her the thrill of a podium finish in a tri and she will take that challenge any day.

Team Amber Bio

Amber Foster
Age Group: 30-34

Amber has been doing triathlons for four years. She has qualified for Best of State in California in 2010, 5i50 National Championships in 2011, Age Group Nationals for 2012 and World Championships in London 2013. In 2011 Amber completed two Half Ironmans and set a PR at the Timpanogas Half Marathon with a finishing time of 1:25. Amber loves to incorporate traveling into her races; her favorite race has been the New York City Nautica Triathlon where she placed 9th overall. She is the owner of Timpanogos Supports, and enjoys working with people with disabilities. Amber is lucky to have a very supportive husband and two wonderful children, that are her best cheerleaders.

TeamBioMcKenzie

McKenzie Mauigoa
Age Group: 25-29

McKenzie is a health/PE/Aerobics teacher at Willowcreek Junior high. She has been married to a wonderful and supportive husband for four years. Her parents introduced her to triathlons and for the past eight years she has been hooked. She finished her first Ironman, Ironman Cozumel, in 2010 with both parents. She participated in Ironman New Zealand in March 2012. In recent years she has placed in the top of her age in most of the races she has competed in. She is very excited to be a member of the TriEdge-Kestrel Triathlon team!

Triteam Cherry

Cherry Smith

Age Group: 35-39

Cherry has been a triathlete for four years and has a four year old girl who's been training along side since she began. It all started with her husband, a tri-obsessed two-time Ironman. Tired of waiting at the finish line, Cherry decided she wanted some of the action. Her passion for the sport has helped her to find the strength to dig deep, regardless of the pain, again and again. She is currently training for her first Half Ironman; St. George 2013. Her motto, "Pain is game." has kept her moving and she's ready for whatever the 2013 season throws her way!

Team Bio AnnaMarie 2

AnnaMarie Miller

Age Group: 30-34

AnnaMarie decided to train for her first triathlon just after giving birth to her third baby. The only problem was she didn't know how to swim. However, after months of training, she completed her first sprint distance triathlon, taking first in her division. She has now been competing in triathlons for 6 years, including a sprint distance when baby #4 was just five weeks old. In 2011, she completed her first 70.3 and took first in her division. AnnaMarie is mom to four children. Her husband, Daniel, took up triathlons several years ago, and they enjoy racing and training together. She is also a professional photographer and a piano teacher. In addition to triathlons, AnnaMarie enjoys half marathons, bike races and relays of any sort.

Cyndi Moody

Cyndi Moody

Age Group: 35-39

Cyndi started running and strength training after her 3rd child; needing to get in shape and wanting to have energy to keep up with her kids. She ran her first half marathon in 2007 and inspired her husband to take up running as well.  She was excited to try a triathlon and it became a dream of hers, but put that on hold to have 2 more children. Her husband was inspired by her dream and started triathlons in 2010.  Supported by her husband, who had already completed half and full ironmans, she finally recognized her dream in 2012. She found that she adored the sport and raced eight times in the next four months.  Her two oldest children also completed their first triathlon in 2012 and loved it.  Cyndi also plays the harp, loves to sing and dance, cook/bake, snowboard, is an avid photographer, and is always up for an adventure.
