The LEGACY DUATHLON went well even though most of the morning the race course was overcast.  Rain seemed to be threatening all morning long but did not hit until the race was over.  The packet pick up was at Masherz on Redwood Road; a nice bike shop with a nice selection of bikes and staff to help out.

This was my first duathlon.  I was excited about the course because the bike and the run are on the Legacy Trail.  The Legacy Trail is paved from Farmington Station all the way to I-215.  This is a great 20+ mile loop and it is very clean and smooth.  The thing I like best about it is no intersections.  Occasionally you will have people covering the whole path but a quick call out "On your left!" always works well.  You can fly on this path.  The LEGACY DUATHLON is a simple well managed race.  The t-shirt was a plain white cotton T with a cool logo.  There was not anything else expect a few postcards in the goodie bag.

The transition area is on Center Street in North Salt Lake.  The run headed south and the bike north.  It is a nice lay out and things seemed to go very smooth.  I did the long course and really enjoyed the run and bike.

So the overall Men's winner on the Long Course was Whitney Phillips from Bountiful UTAH. In the Women's Long course Carly Killam with a time of 1:35.

For the short course John Clark won the men's in 50:41 and Lora Erickson won the women's overall with a time of 55:41.

Special thanks to Joe Coles for putting together a nice event.  Also special thanks to LUCID images Robby and Brian.  Robby has been at several TRI events and knows how to get quality shots.  The offer a special service and have shots available to purchase through www.lucidimagesut.com .  They will have pictures available on the 19th.

I really like to ride my bikes, and my snowboards, and run. I love talking about and sharing the excitement of multisport with anyone that will listen. Is there anything better than a good run in the mountains?
